Tattoo Talk with Ella

Name- Ella

Website- I run a Lifestyle, fashion and Travel Blog. My mission is to travel the world and obviously look good doing it.

So what was your first tattoo and how old where you?
My first tattoo was when I was 15, My mom went with me, I really wanted A perfect circle Logo tattoo because it was my favourite band. I must say it is not my favourite tattoo because it was executed quite poorly as most first tattoos are. I learned my lesson.

How many tattoos do you have currently? What are they?
I have Six tattoos. I have my full back dedicated to reincarnation in a Salvador Dali style, which was made custom for me by a very upcoming artist called The Pot. We went to high school together and at that time I had a huge crush on him. I begged him to draw for me but he never wanted. I finally caught him but in his darkest moments and this is what he made for me.

Next ones are two starts on my ribs dedicated to my deceased father and grandfather who were literally stars in my country. My dad was a famous singer and my grandpa an actor,so they deserved a special place on my body.

On my stomach I have Latin saying ‘’Quod me nutrit me destruit” - what feeds me destroyes me, because I had eating disorders when younger, but also because it is an actual fact of life. What feeds you really does destroy you - love, money, people, jobs,… Last one I did was on my thigh and it is the only colored one I have, it is not finished. The style is quite new school and it was made freehand by Amazing Xeno who is a tattoo artist in Croatia.

My mom was so impressed with my tattoo, when she turned 45 she made herself a whole sidepiece from her knee to her arm. I guess the thigh one was just to express myself, there are motives like an OWL which represented -in ancient times— a bird that carried souls to heaven, also it represents being ‘’wise’’ which some people believe they are , also known as ‘’old souls’’ , there is a horus eye around it’s neck for protection. On the tree there is a cheshire cat because well… we’re all mad here, and he is holding a cup of coffee …that tattoo is not yet finished but hopefully it will be by the end of this year.

Do you have a favourite piece? If so what one and why?
I don’t have a favourite really, I love them all equally, they mean a lot to me.

Did you do a lot of research in to your chosen artist/artists?
To be honest all my tattoos were made on impulsion. Except my two biggest ones which ere made by the same artist and I think I found a partner in him for life. He is incredible. The one on the back that I have i had a really bad mobile photo from the original drawing and he made it look so amazing.

Are you planning on anymore?
I am planning to finish the ones I have at the moment.

A silly question as pain is relative but Most painful tattoo?
Most painful tattoo was ribs. I can’t even explain how horrible that was. Three hours of extreme suffering. I will never do that again.

General reaction from friends and family about your tattoos/body mods? Are they happy about you having them?
No one really complained, my friends like them as well so I can proudly say I don't know any close minded people.

Have you tattoos ever hindered anything you wanted to do, interviews, work, etc?
They did now haha , well I never though about using my tattoos for work. They do look good in pictures tho I can't complain.

Do you get asked did it hurt a lot? What do you tell people?
People ask a lot and I tell them the truth. Most people don't like being asked that but I think it's our responsibility to inform people of our experience, and not lie and not be sarcastic. I always like to say my experiences good and bad because it might make a difference to others.

Do you find people will touch your tattoo (body mods) without asking? If so how do you deal with it?
No has touched any of my piercings or tattoos without asking, I don't grope women fake tits cause it's not polite so why would someone touch me. I don't think that is very nice.

Shout out to the artist/artists hear if you want :)
Shoutout to The Pot who drew my art and XENO for making it a reality, both amazing artists!
