Tattoo Talk with Lauren from Sweetened Sour

Lauren O'Hara

Sweetened Sour https://lauren-ohara-x.blogspot.com Doesn't have any set theme so all crazy thoughts, things, and views are on there. With the odd girly beauty or fashion post!

So what was your first tattoo and how old where you?
My first tattoo was a little butterfly (I don't think it is finished) that I had tattooed on myself during my tattooing apprenticeship when I was 17.

Why did you choose that specific design (because i liked it is a perfectly acceptable answer)
I found the image on google but slightly changed it. Being a lover of all things cute when I was 17, I thought it looked good enough and it is slightly elegant as well.

How many tattoos do you have currently? What are they?
I have two tattoos! The small butterfly I mention 30 seconds ago, and a huge tattoo that wraps around my thigh. The thigh tattoo is a half garter half stocking with a dagger looking like it's being held up by the garter, with a rose. It's hard to explain with out a picture.

Here's a picture

Do you have a favorite piece? if so what one and why?
My Garter/stocking/dagger/rose tattoo! It's sexy (one my mum likes but my step-dad hates haha!) but I absolutely love it!

Did you do a lot of research in to your chosen artist/artists?
Yes, I adored Miami Ink, LA ink, and London ink TV shows where I realised Kat Von D is my inspiration!

Are you planning on anymore?
Hell-frickin'-yeah! Get me covered in tattoos!

A silly question as pain is relative but Most painful tattoo?
My thigh tattoo. The BACK not the front. I fell asleep during the thigh tattoo when i was getting inked on the front, but during the back of my thigh I thought I would scream from the pain. Luckily, I didn't cry. As the tattooist said: "Took the pain like a girl." (a compliment) No pain, no gain.

General reaction from friends and family about your tattoos/body mods? Are they happy about you having them?
Tbh, my parents can't say shit as they have many many tattoos themselves. Like parents, like daughter I guess! My friends love my tattoos, too.

Reactions from members of the public about your tattoos/body mods, Good or Bad?
Haha you take a guess! When I go into the local pub, there is a snob couple that are regulars, they turn their nose up at me. It's not my fault I have guts and have one hell of a sexy tattoo.

Have you tattoos ever hindered anything you wanted to do, interviews, work, etc?
Not recently. My tattoos are easy to cover up, but in the future I want my hands and my whole arms tattooed. I think I would use the whole "you're discriminating" card! *wink*

Do you get asked did it hurt a lot? What do you tell people?
Yes. I tell them to stop being stupid. We get prodded with needles, of course it F-ing hurts!

Do you find people will touch your tattoo (body mods) without asking? If so how do you deal with it?
I would slap a person for touching without asking, seen as my most eye-catching tattoo is on my higher thigh!

Shout out to the artist/artists hear if you want :)
Frank Inkfallible Villasenor. What a babe! (Works in my small home town in Greater Manchester.)

Any parting words?
Give me more tattoos!
