Tattoo Talk with Luke from Not Your Average Nerd

This week on...
Name- Luke
Website- notyouraveragenerd.co.uk, pretty much a blog featuring technical stuff fashion and lifestyle!!

So what was your first tattoo and how old were you?
My first tattoo was my all seeing eye on my arm and I was 19 when I got it.

Why did you choose that specific design?
I'd always liked the sign and the idea and looks that it got when I would wear clothes with an all seeing eye on them, so I thought why the hell not, and proceeded to get it, it did cost a lot for the size (due to it being done in London, I presume)

How many tattoos do you have currently? What are they?
I have 2 currently, The all seeing eye on my upper inside of my forearm, and a sugar skull with roses on the lower back on my forearm.

Do you have a favorite piece? if so what one and why?
It has to be the sugar skull, because it is a very recent piece and its so well done and looks really good

Did you do a lot of research in to your chosen artist/artists?
For my first tattoo, I went into the shop and looked around, i instantly knew i wanted I done there as the shop had a really cool "underground" vibe to it.

Are you planning on any more?
Of course, its an addiction and its awesome, I plan to get one every 4 months until I have completed my first sleeve which is what I ultimately want and my chest done.

A silly question as pain is relative but Most painful tattoo?
Probably the all seeing eye because it has a real thick border, and that really really hurt as i wasn't expecting that pain haha.

General reaction from friends and family about your tattoos/body mods? Are they happy about you having them?
My parents don't mind, both say it is my choice and in the end it is, its my body and i can customise it how I see fit.

Reactions from members of the public about your tattoos/body mods, Good or Bad,
Have you tattoos ever hindered anything you wanted to do, interviews, work, etc?
Not yet, but I have said that the lowest I would go is just above my wrist for obvious work prospects.

Do you get asked did it hurt a lot? What do you tell people?
Of course its the first thing everyone says when you get one, how much and did it hurt but that depends on the person.

Do you find people will touch your tattoo (body mods) without asking? If so how do you deal with it?
When it was healing people wanted to touch it, but I'm not really fussed once its healed, if they want to look and stuff they can, its a part of me and I'm proud to have it.

Shout out to the artist/artists hear if you want
Andre from Vivid  ink in stafford, is an apprentice so only charged me £50 for a large piece with colour.

Any partying words?
Tattoos are awesome and everyone should have them!
