Tattoo Talk - Stew from TattooedOwl

So this is the first feature on
Name- Stew
Website- well you're on it :)

So what was your first tattoo and how old where you?
My first tattoo was a Motley Crue Piece when i was about 20, look how much naked skin is on that arm.

Why did you choose that specific design?
I absolutely love Motley Crue!

How many tattoos do you have currently, What are they?
Um.. I have a full sleeve which includes a sugar skull, a quote from Shawshank, a clover and a bomb with titis.
A start on my other sleeve which subsequently looks a lot like the expendables logo, couple of pin ups on my chest, a ship/anchor mash up on my calf and a swallow on my foot.

Do you have a favourite piece, if so what one and why?
I think my clover is one of my favourite pieces, just like it.

Did you do a lot of research in to your chosen artist/artists?
So a new shop opened up near work, and I was turned down for a few ideas to start with when I went in there. Then I got some work done by one artist, and then I got some more done by another artist in the shop and its just gone on from there. But in truth i went in cause the shop looked cool and had a logo by Vince Ray.

Are you planning on any more?
I am indeed, just finding the time.

Most painful tattoo?
I know pain is relative but my calf tattoo was an absolute nightmare. Passed out due to the pain.

General reaction from friends and family about your body mods? Are they happy about you having them?
To be honest, I'm not to bothered what anybody thinks, but as it turns out my friends and family haven't said anything bad about them to my face.

Reactions from members of the public about your body mods, Good or Bad?
I've had a few rude people, one time in the dentist waiting room an older gentlemen was quizzing me and asking how I got a job. I polity told him to do one as he wasn't really listening to my answers.

Have you tattoos ever hindered anything you wanted to do, interviews, work, etc?
I have never found that they have hindered me, I don't really keep them covered up at work, but my boss is pretty cool.

Do you get asked did it hurt a lot? What do you tell people?
All the time, and my standard response is "feels like they were licked on by kittens"

Do you find people will touch your tattoo (body mods) without asking? If so how do you deal with it?
I used to have 28mm Plugs and when I wore tunnels people used to put there fingers through the holes.
As for the tattoos I have found that people will just grab your arm for a closer look. I have let my ears shrink now so i don't really get that issue and as for people grabbing me I just politely say get off (some times i'm not polite)

Shout out to the artist/artists hear if you want :)
